Samsung's tradeshow team had a VIP event coming up in Florida, and the booth needed to stand out in a crowded exhibition hall. The brand had just shifted to a clean black and white palette, so whatever they ordered had to match those colors exactly.

The displays also had to take a beating between shows. They needed something that was illuminated, stackable, and shatterproof, and the deadline left no room for error.

Why illuminated cubes worked better than a printed banner

A printed banner could never do what a lit cube does. Each cube ran on a built-in rechargeable battery, so there were no wires or outlets required. And because the cubes stacked perfectly, the team could build a tower that pulled eyes from across the room.

How mock-ups helped to finalize the design and scale

A quick Google search brought the team to PK Green, and they got in touch about a custom build. At first, they weren't sure how a stacked black-and-white pair would look. So they asked for mock-ups.

The mock-ups we sent showed the exact logo, colors, and finish before anything went into production, which took the guesswork out of the order. White cube with a black logo, or black cube with a glowing white logo: the team could weigh both before committing to anything.

Practical questions came up too. Would the cubes hold up to shipping? How big would they really look on the stand? We sent photos of the cubes placed next to a person which helped to settle the scale. And we confirmed that the branding and the displays would be durable for transport. With that, the team was ready to go ahead.

The interactive cube tower helped Samsung stand out

First impressions were critical for their VIP event, and a glowing black-and-white tower did that job with ease. A custom logo and a scannable QR code were printed across the sides, so guests could scan straight through to more information instead of collecting flyers.

The rechargeable battery let the team place the display wherever it worked best on the day, rather than tying it to the nearest wall socket. When the booth layout shifted at the last minute, the cubes just moved with it.
